Commissioned in 1909 by the State Mines Gold Mining Company as a nine-hole recreational facility for company employees; subsequently upgraded to an eighteen-hole course. In 1970 the membership took ownership of the course and appointed architect Rob O'Friel to redesign the course with many significant changes during the years to follow.
