Killarney Country Club

Killarney is the one of the only Robert Trent Jones Jr design golf courses in South Africa, and getting the legendary American course architect to come here was quite a coup for the club. Jones visited the country in 1968 at a fraction of his normal fee, which even then was about $250 000. Our very own Mr. Gary Player the most famous SA sportsman and golfer of all time started his golfing journey at Killarney CC, where he served his apprenticeship and interacted with many of our members who are still stalwart members of our club. Our members assisted in passing the proverbial “hat around” to assist Mr Player with funding for his first voyage to the northern shores to ply his trade on the professional golf tours of Europe and America. With many national and international players across our sporting codes, KCC has been an integral part of the sports men and women who have represented South Africa with pride.
