Cato Ridge Golf Club Description Situated in open grassland and home to plentiful wildlife, Cato Ridge Country Club promises a laid back day out on the course. Designed in 1969, the Country Club is characterized by medium to fast greens and mostly flat fairways, which play long in summer and like a links golf course in winter. The relatively long par 3 11th typifies the course, and features a narrow entrance to the green, closely guarded by water and out-of-bounds. Cato Ridge offers an excellent round for beginner golfers, and ensures good value for money coupled with high reward for those more accomplished players. Cato Ridge Golf Club lies along the N3 Mariannhill Toll Road between Assagay and Camperdown, just a little further west of Inchanga. At first glance Cato Ridge may appear as a small dull dusty town as you turn off from the freeway you will discover a beautiful 18-hole golf course nestling on the outskirts of the town. The visitor will find a surprisingly challenging and well-maintained “hidden gem” in great condition with a friendly Clubhouse that will provide a full range of meals and refreshments. Actually, this part of Kwa-Zulu Natal, just north of Kloof and Hillcrest, doesn’t need much help in terms of its natural beauty as the countryside is so beautiful anyway. It is a doorway to the Midlands, lies just south of the Midlands Mistbelt, and provides really easy access to the Valley of 1000 Hills.
