The ‘Harlestone’ layout is a championship 18 holes of 6,515 yards off the back tees and is a pleasant but stern test for golfers of all abilities.The first four holes present a difficult start through mature woodland with a par 4, par 3, par 5 and par 4 sequence. The 2nd hole is one of two signature par 3’s requiring a medium to long iron over a small lake to a two tier green. The middle section rolls through slightly more open estate land where the player can ‘open their shoulders’ a little. The par 5 12th hole is almost 600 yards and is a challenge for all players to make in three shots. It may sound incredible but a select few have reached the green with a driver and a wedge! The final three holes are over and around the ornamental lake and it takes a strong nerve to finish in par figures. The par 3 16th is another signature hole with all carry to a large but narrow two tier green.
