Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club

Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club is predominently a parkland course set in the mature former estate of Lord Gerard. The Club was founded in 1902 in nearby Bryn and moved to its current location in 1965 when land for a nine hole course was purchased. Work to extend it to 18 holes commenced in 1974. The par 70 parkland course stands at 6223 yards from the white tees, 5918 yards from the yellow and 5306 from the ladies tees. It offers a number of narrow tree-lined fairways and small greens which will test golfers at all levels.
