Over the years, many changes have occurred, and our current design advisor is Tom Mackenzie of Mackenzie & Ebert who previously worked with Donald Steel. The outcome of over eighty years of golfing history is a 6,216 yard layout that demands accuracy and judgement rather than power - although on many holes, long hitters will have an edge. And along the way, as Walter Hagen declared, "smell the roses". Picturesque, beautifully tree-lined, and really well maintained: these are qualities that not all courses offer. Haywards Heath does. There are some testing elevation changes and views of the Weald and South Downs that are worth a moment's pause before teeing up. Haywards Heath, a constantly improving golf course, offers a pleasing blend of sheer golfing challenge and pure enjoyment.
