Set on the grounds of the beautiful Gosforth Park, Parklands Golf Club has seen many changes since it was established in 1966, originally known as the John Jacobs Golf Centre.
At the time of opening there was just a driving range, until 1971 a nine hole course was opened and renamed Wideopen Golf Club. In 1977 the Club was taken over by High Gosforth Park Company, who owned the whole of the Gosforth Park land.
When the lease expired in 1986 the Club was given to Gosforth Park Golfing Complex who changed the name to Parklands Golf Club. ARC (previously Northern Racing) acquired High Gosforth Park in 1994 and took over the running of Parklands in November 2001.
The Golf Club now encompasses a 28 bay driving range, an 18 hole Golf Course, an 18 hole Mini Golf Course, and a bustling Clubhouse.
