Situated between Buckingham and Brackley, Stowe Golf Course, with its rolling landscapes and numerous historic features, provides a stunning setting for a round of golf and a challenge for players of all abilities. The superb new 9-hole course was opened in May 2020 and measures just over 6,400 yards when played from the medal tees over 18 holes. On a course offering great variety, the 3rd hole (Par 4, 380 yards), with a dog-leg over water towards the ancient ‘Fary’s Oak’ provides undoubtedly the signature challenge. Lying on parkland immediately adjacent to the world-famous landscape gardens of Stowe, views abound towards some of the notable monuments and follies, including Lord Cobham and Gibbs’s Bourbon Tower (c.1740) and Bridgeman’s 1720s Bycell Riding which lies to the south of the site, adjacent to Gibbs’s Stowe Castle (c.1740). The new Stowe Golf Course opened on the 18 May 2020. Due to Covid – 19 restriction, the Club is only allowing access to its members.
