You will find Blainroe Golf Club just 3.5km south of Wicklow Town, its cliff top location affords some spectacular views of the Irish Sea with Mount Snowdon in Wales featuring regularly as a backdrop during the summer months. Looking westwards up the narrow valley you have the majestic Wicklow Mountains which give Blainroe its own micro-climate and a beautiful location for all year round golf. Our 18 Hole, Par 72 Course measures 6175 meters, opened in 1978 and carries the prestigious Hawtree & Son design signature. In 2005, Martin Hawtree, son of the original architect, redesigned the Course. This redesign included new sand-based greens, new tee-boxes with additional greenside and fairway bunkers. Blainroe is now recognised as one of the finest coastal parkland golf courses in the south-east of Ireland. Martin Hawtree has been involved with such prestigious Courses as Royal Birkdale, Sunningdale, Trump International Scotland, Doonbeg Links, Lahinch, Portmarnock, Dooks, The Island, Fontainebleau and Vilamoura (Millennium). The modern Clubhouse, overlooking our private beach, assures visitors a warm welcome and has full bar and catering facilities daily. A fully stocked Professional shop run by our PGA Professional also offers club, trolley and motorised buggy hire. Wicklow Town with its harbour, pubs and restaurants, hotels and guesthouses, is the ideal base from which to play Blainroe and other nearby courses.
