Welcome to the Gray Bear, the first 18-hole master golf course in Slovakia. The golf course was opened on 8th August 2002. Tony Jacklin, a professional golf player and captain of the Ryder Cup, cut the symbolic tape. He likes its unique and beautiful nature scenery, original environment and design. The golf course was designed by American company International Golf Course Design South Carolina and designers, Bob Walton and Skip Malek. Shaping of the golf course was performed by a Scottish company Southern Golf Ltd., United Kingdom.
Gray Bear golf course got The quality certificate 2019 with maximum 5* for provided services.
The scenery of the mountain valley has lots of natural beauties, creek beds, rocky boulders, massive firs and spruces are its natural dominants. Design of the 6 296 m long golf course is clear and all holes are correct, even though its level of difficulty requires respect of players and precise play with irons.
Gray Bear is the golf course requiring walk; tees are in a short distance from greens which peculiarly copy the terrain. Typically hard playing surfaces are covered by a mixture of fescue copying the grass which can be found also on the golf courses of British Open in Scotland.
Golf course Gray Bear demonstrated its high professional level even during the most prestigious golf tournaments in Slovakia: European Championship of Seniors in the category Masters, EGA Challenge Trophy Boys in July and August 2006 and Allianz Ladies Slovak Open 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
