Hartola Golf

Hartola Golf Club was founded in 1989 in the city of Hartola, which has a unique history. 1776-1783 Hartola was part of the estate Sysmä, which belonged to the famous noble family Tandefelt. In 1784, Gustav III, the King of Sweden, proclaimed Hartola an independent church-administrative district, disconnecting it from Sysmä. The parish has since become known as Gustav Adolfs socken, in honor of Crown Prince Gustav IV. In 1867, when the law on local government came into force, the parish was renamed back to Hartola, in accordance with the name of the chapel parish of the XVI century. In 1987, Hartola unofficially proclaimed itself a kingdom, in memory of the King of Sweden, Gustav IV Adolf.
