The Haagsche is ‘committed to green’, meaning that we respect nature and the golf course environment. The course is maintained in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. Through checks, analysis, formulating objectives and continual evaluation, the Haagsche optimizes its management of the natural environment. The Haagsche is fortunate to host a wealth of varied flora and fauna. As such, we take great care to maintain and improve our highly valued natural environment. Among other ways, by using sheep and cattle to control the growth of the course naturally. Bird counts are organized regularly and we also monitor mushrooms, toadstools, butterflies and insects. The number of deer is also monitored carefully. The Haagsche tries as much as possible to adhere to the requirements of the Meijendel Nature (a Natura 2000 area).
